Trompe l’oeil – a self portrait

A trompe l’oeil self portrait

International Muralfest winner, Sheffied, Tasmania, 2010

‘Turangawaewae’ is a place we truly call home. Painted in the style of trompe l’oeil, this self portrait depicts the artist at rest, basking in the almost-completed imagery of Mt. Tarawera, New Zealand.

“I was born here. I fished and tramped this lake all my life … even got married on it’s beautiful shores.
